Kohler engine

My name is David. I replaced the stator on my 19hp and now it won't start. I'm getting a spark and fuel. Gap between flywheel and magnet is good.
Can't figure it out.

Air,compression and timing is what’s left .
What else is there? Must something else happened. Why was the stator change ? Fill us in please?
