The original subject was "Re: Krone 250b round baler".

New guy here. another retired "wanna be" hobby farmer.. Bought a Krone 250B, knowing little or nothing about them, used it last week. Picked up good, rolled good, fed the twine into the bale.. But didn't move the twines across the bale... After looking closer, there is nothing there but the 2 cutter knives hanging down.. The chain is there but nothing else to hold the twine pick ups.. The whole rack is missing ?? It is similar to the above posts, but also quite different, see attached diagram.. Any suggestions ?? Looking for a salvage baler or parts supplier..

You can get parts from krone. Parts number 34 move on a chain-- which is under some sheet metal-- they move the twine. The chain and twine carriers are driven by the two plastic discs-- 13 and 2.

Thanks for the reply, #34 (twine hooks), are attached to the trunion with guide plates in a guide.. ?? The chain is there and turns as it should, but nothing else is attached to it...

Are there the two plastic discs (to the left if you are facing the front of the baler)? I have an M&W which is almost the same thing. The outermost disc has a few deep grooves in it. The twine comes from the twine chamber above and is wrapped around these grooves twice and then proceeds to the motor and to the twine hook. The grooved disc turns the geared disc which turns a shaft that turns the chain-- so once the twine starts going around the bale, the twine being pulled out makes the hooks go back and forth. Not sure if I'm explaining that clearly. Mine came with a manual and has some diagrams on the front of the baler explaining where the twine goes. Maybe the motors are missing? Mine don't work anyway.

As mentioned before, the twine motors all work as they should, puts the twine on the bale. But there is nothing to move the twine side to side to wrap the roll.... Whole rack is missing...Thanks

I have a 250b. The bad news is krone doesn't carry the parts anymore for the 250b. That is what my krone dealer told me anyway. Artsway carries the parts. Artsway-mfg.com

I called them and got a part for mine about a year ago.

Thanks for the reply Steve... I have since found that out.. Artsway has the twine guides.. But want $150. each for them.. They wouldn't even price the larger "trunion" because they would try to make one... I probably wouldn't pay that much anyhow... Well I'm back to looking for salvage machines I guess... Or may have to make them myself ?? Wish I could find a dimensional drawing to go by.. Thanks again...

Back when one of the sprockets screwed up and mine wouldn't move the twine from side to side I made a hook and only used one spool of twine. I would start the twine and use the hook to pull it to each side and then cut it manually. Works in a pinch when hay is down and it has to come up.

Yea, that's what we did a couple of weeks ago... It was a "have to case"... Won't be doing that again.........

Anyone have a photo of part # 34 ?? The twine guide... Trying to make the parts I am missing.. I think the shape of it is very important so it will "catch" and hold the twine as it goes back and forth .......
