Kubota blackout?

I just got an email from Messicks stating that Kubota will be doing a full company-wide shutdown for about 3 weeks beginning January 1st. They are doing this to wholesale switch out their computer systems. Your local dealer will still be able to provide service if they have the parts and knowledge on hand, but if they need to order parts or reach out to corporate, you will have to wait until January 19th AT LEAST to get a response.

Where's the irrational outrage and panic? Where are the ones threatening to trade all their Kubota equipment in on John Deere?

Here is Messick's video "explaining" the situation. Surely it's all lies and propaganda...

Only 3 weeks? Many European countries have month long vacations. The company I retired from always ordered extra spare parts beforehand and when something odd happened the machine was parked till vacation was over. Just the way it is.

I got the same email. I would guess dealers would order some extras of the most commonly needed parts and can probably still sell new equipment if they have it on the lot but something that has to be ordered will just have to wait and hope the companies 3 week window is accurate. Probably give it another 3 weeks or more for everyone to understand the new system before things start getting back to normal. Most of all pray that Kubota has a competent IT department. If you do decide to get rid of your Kubota's don't go out and buy up all the old Farmalls and cause a run up of prices for guys like me. LOL

Best hack on earth to get rid of excess inventory. Tell everyone that they will not be able to get something and people will be fighting over what's left on the shelves wither they need it or not.

All companies need to update their systems every once in awhile. If not, they would be running Windows 98 in a Windows 10 world. At least they are doing the update during a time when the majority of tractors and equipment will be parked.

My Case-IH Kubota dealer said they have discounts on service work over the winter.
I'm only guessing that January is a slow time. Good time to take a vacation.

Bingo.

Expecting systems to work better after the replacement/upgrade.

No, I did not say that there might not be temporary hiccups.

Looks like a HOAX being passed around the net like a campfire story.

I would like to see a press release from Kubota, not a bunch of youtube hacks.
We got a mailing from Messicks about it. They are the local Kubota dealer. I don't think it's a hoax.

There have been plenty of them as well as direct messages to customers.

Directly from Kubota or just from dealers and hearsay?

Go to kubotausa.com
go to the mothership at kubota.com
Nothing of the sort mentioned.
I would think their home websites would be plastered with banners trying to let as many customers know as possible.
Instead of relying on their dealers to put out youtube videos and emails.
Go to Messicks website and try to find the info about it.......................nothing there.

You have to go to their youtube channel before it appears.

If you go to Kubotausa under parts and service there is a link for ordering system update and this is what you will find.

At Kubota Tractor Corporation, we are committed to enhancing our services to better meet your needs. As part of this commitment, we will be upgrading our ordering systems from January 1-January 19. During this transition, we cannot ship new orders for parts, attachments and implements. Our dedicated dealer network is proactively stocking essential items and collaborating with neighboring dealers to ensure you receive the support you expect from Kubota. While some parts may not be available until after January 20, we appreciate your patience and are confident the new system will better handle all your future needs.

I received an email message announcing the change directly from Kubota some time ago.
