I am in the market for a tedder. Stopped at the Kubota dealership, spoke to a very young salesman about the tedder they have on the lot. He knew almost nothing about it kept calling it a 4 reel machine. Maybe that is what Kubota calls them. He was the only 1 there. Does anyone know anything about them? anything bad to know. Thanks guys

I think kubota bought vicon. I don't anything about them, but at sales vicon stuff is usually cheap. If buying new, claas, kuhn, and krone are all proven tedders.

Kubota bought Kverneland which included the majority of Taarup hay line which a lot were badged Vicon as well. Some product lines such as wrappers and big balers were sold off to Kuhn to shore up Kverneland financially but did not succeed. Kverneland used to sell through a jobber in the US and later tried its own marketing. It was marginally successful with the first and a failure with the second plan. Problems included but not limited to sketchy parts availability and machines pricing out high against competitors. Hopefully Kubota has talked to dealers here to know what needs to be done to be successful here. I am waiting for plows to be Kubota labeled and see what impact that brings. Hopefully Kubota does not use certain venues that Kverneland used in administration here.

In fairness to the former Kverneland Corp a fair amount of the pricing issues were due to the relative strength of the Euro against the US Dollar.
