wile mowing today in a flat smooth feild , a sound developed which sounded like a rattling shroud somewere. upon further investigation when i raised the cutterbar and bra, the whole center of the cutterbar was violently flexing, the likes of wich ive never seen or could imagine could happen.. after bringing the mower back to the barn i proceded to troubleshoot, the discs turned unimpeded by hand with very little ease, no grinding or any other obvious problem. the outboard #2 disc seemed a bit wobbly and i removed the disc shell and the gear housing i disassembled and reassembled it, the bering felt solid and retightened it and put it back together, reved it up and still violent flexing.,,HELP what do i check for ,anyone ever hear of or see this.

Check the idler gears out. They can spin the bearing in the housing. The cutter bar feels fine when turned slowly by hand but will raise cane when run at PTO speed.

IS yours one of the ones where the cutter bar is two pieces bolted together?? If it is then you will need to remove it from the machine and take the two halves apart to check the idler gears and bearings.

If this is the modular bar.. you could pull each module out and check for slop in the idlers immediately next to the module?
I'd also wonder if you don't just have a broken mount somewhere...
