L.B. white heater

I have a 170K BTU LB white heater in great working condition that I would like to sell.What is it worth? I am replacing it with a vented heater and hate to see it thrown away.

Is it a torpedo-style heater or one of the box-style barn/tent heaters?

The box type should get you ~$200-275. The torpedo type should be worth ~$100-175. Until a couple of years ago they were worth quite a bit more. A lot of work sites now restrict the use of direct-fire heaters. They also aren't thrilled to see heaters with standing pilots in use.

I just repaired one of the box ones for my brother. Nice units...very quiet and clean running compared to the more traditional torpedo units. He got his at a garage sale from a retired contractor for $75. Very good deal. These are built for years of reliable service.

Its the box style heater

There are tons of them in hog buildings in my neck of the woods. They're easy to work on. If they can stand up to the atmosphere in a hog confinement they must be good. Jim

They are indeed a very good heater. One of my friends has a private bar in his garage, and that is what he uses (hooked up to a 100# bottle).

If it was mine, I would keep it until the next winter time power outage. It will sell for a very good price then. DOUG
