Recently purchased LA Case and ser # tag is missing ,trying to figure out what yr it is,replaced front tires and tubes and rims had 10/48 stamped on inside ,just wondered if their were any other way to determine yr of tractor thanks Danny l Kinder

The serial number should be stamped in the flange of the engine where it meets the tranny on right side at about the 10 o clock position (looking from the driver's seat). If you still can't find it pop over to the case board. They can give you a pretty good idea on what year it is or how to narrow it down.

Look for the serial number stamped on the LEFT side of the engine bell housing flange, and 10:00 o'clock from the driver's seat. Take the first 2 numbers and subtract 4 to determine the year. My guess with the date stamped on the wheels is that it is a 1949 model, so the serial number may start with 53XXXXX... Gene
