LA shutoff

Can anybody tell me what is the proper way to shut off the engine.
My dad has one of these and it is just rigged, is it suppose to have a kill switch and if so where is it suppose to be located. I don't think you just choke it down. Mabe just shut off fuel? He passed away last year and we know little about it.

Your magneto should have a button you push
to kill the engine.

there is a lever on the left side of the throttle for the magneto. push it ahead to kill the engine. half way back to start the engine then
fully back once running to advance the spark. there is no separate kill switch. plus i am talking about the original mag that came with the
tractor. forgot i was on john deere forum and gave instructions for the case LA. but anyhow it should have a button to push on the mag.

My LA had a small strap on the side of the magneto. Pushing it to ground the mag shut it off.

I always ran mine out of fuel, shutting off the fuel bowl, if it was going to sit for more than 24 hours. If I was going to re-
use it that day I would use the mag button like others mentioned.
