LA torque specs

I have an after-market service book covering L, LA, LI and some LU. For the Deere engine, (not the Hercules) that is probably in your 1944 LA, there are no torque specs shown for the connecting rods or the head. For the head the book states "Tighten capscrews evenly, from the center outwardly until all are tight."

That after-market book also has a reprint of the "Hercules Operator"s Handbook for NX Series" engines. That lists "wrench tension"s of 504 inch-pounds for the head and 504 inch-pounds for connecting rods. That"s 42 foot pounds.

Those torques may also work for the Deere engine, they sound reasonable...
