Do any of you have a combination mini lathe and milling machine? If so, what do you have, and where was it purchased? Thanks

Go to Govdeals.com Government surplus site. They are usually under "machinery" Everything from large ones to small. Have purchased large lathe, vertical mill, 3pt backhoes, garden tractors, etc. It usually is municipal and schools/university sales.

If you hit the machining boards and hobby boards you can find specific forums for the mini combo lathe-mills. For tiny stuff, they work fine, even the Harbor Freight examples get decent press. For farm work- no.

I recieved a Craftsman mini-lathe in exchange for some work I did. I discovered right away that the spindle was twisted. I took it apart, straightened out that spindle, and then it ran true. Until I actually tried to use it. The spindle immediately twisted again. I listed it on CL, and sold it the next day. Good riddance.

Picture of what I have. Mostly used to drill which is does very well. Turned only a few parts.Could do with out but have too much$$ invested to sell. Not good for over 3 inch parts. Mostly a play thing that takes up room since we moved.Shipping cost almost as much as the lathe. Bought it online. ENCO sells them. I built a table which hold my vise along with it. Bought live centers for it and a bunch of tooling etc.
