lead additive?

does anybody use a lead additivie in their fuel? if u put new valves in. are they harden valves or do they require lead additive?? does is lower octane rating or no??

Lead in the past was used for two reasons. 1 was to lube the valves and it was also used to raise the octane. You can still buy 100 Low Lead fuel at the air strip. Good Luck,

it was used to give the valves a coating to help protect them b/c they didn't have harden valves like they do today....does anybody use the additive yes or no??

I just use Track tech 111 octane race fuel. It has lead in it. but if I was using pump gas I think i would add the additive.
