leaf blower modification

old and in the way
Help an old guy out. I've got a standard hand held 2 cycle leaf blower … Stihl, Echo, Huskv all make them. with about a 2.5 foot straight
tube. Works great for around the trees and beds but not so much along fences and buildings as it just blows everything on down the
fence line or the house instead of out from the house so I can gather the with the mower...

I'm looking for an angled attachment (45 or 90 degree) that will push the leaves out away from the house. With the straight nozzle if you
try to reposition it, it just blows them up in your face or back behind you... does anyone make an 'add-on' piece or has anyone fabricated
something that works well ?? the nozzle it probably 3" in diameter... I'd like to have it where you could put it on for the fences and then off
for general blower work...

thanks
john

I gather yours doesn't have the vacuum capability with the bag? I asked because that's kinda what they do.

Stihl makes a gutter attachment that has a "hook" at the end. I'd look into that. Come sin a kit with several extensions, but a Stihl parts guy could probably order just the hook.

Rather than a 90⁰ attachment, how about placing your body next to the foundation and blowing parallel to it?

Depending on how powerful the blower is, you probably wouldn't like an attachment to blow sideways, as the resulting side thrust will be constantly trying to unscrew your wrist.

I have a BR 320, about 30 years old. The wand has a crook at the end. Sometimes I turn it over to get leaves out of the corners. It's just a friction fit at the top end. I thought all of them had the bend at the lower end. Try a dealer or Amazin.

here's what I got

Take it for what it's worth, but my experience operating a lawn care business for many years is to always keep the blowpipe next to and in line with the wall or fence, don't blow directly towards them. Hope this helps.

How about an aluminum downspout elbow? I use a 10' section of downspout and two elbows to blow leaves out of a corner of my house gutter.
It does blow sideways like Fritz said, so I don't run it full throttle.

Take it to the plumbing isle and try schedule 40 and dwv pipe/fittings. If you find something slightly too large, spit one end, wedge it open then fill crack with caulk. If it's a skosh too small, split one end then use hose clamp or zip-tie to squeeze down.
Sometimes it requires splitting both sides but it's the same approach.

I used to have a Ryobi gas blower, that had a fixture that went over the cooling air intake, and a bag went on the blower. It worked pretty well for juat that situation. Gave it to my grandson, since we don't have nay trees anymore.
