Anybody replace a leaky rear wheel seal here..........I got fluid all over my inner right rear rim.....How hard is it and is it self exploratory once you take the wheel off......

ID'ing the model of tractor is usually a good idea when you ask a question here.

The difficulty of the repair would depend on what model tractor you are talking about.

I have rebuilt the engine on my Fiat and pulled the motor on my old ford truck so why is it so hard to take direction here..........What pre tell is a "sweat collar" and how can one replace a seal without pulling the wheel apart?

(quoted from post at 16:44:03 11/06/17) I can't imagine a big difference in rear wheels between the 9N which I have and the other 2 and 8N's
ou may be incapable of imagining it, but the differences are real!

Sounds like you do not have the manuals for your tractor. You should have them before you start your repair. 9n and 2n are pretty much the same, but big difference with the 8n.

Well, there is. So do you have a problem
telling us what model tractor you're working
on, or would you prefer that we guess?

Maybe you mean "pray tell"

Not a complicated job but the trickiest part is getting seals started on collar straight. I used a short cutoff of PVC pipe to aid in starting it straight. It was still hard to start but I eventually prevailed.

I don't know why Mr Ron can't tell us it is a 9N he said it was in a previous post.
Good luck to the one that explains how to replace the seal.
Calcium Chloride or 90 weight big difference.lol
