You can pull one of those with a 4020??I Once looked into buying one-even test drove it.At the time(1982)I was running a (new)'80 Jd 4040.That 15 footer would flat kill the tractor-even low gear was too fast.Hardest 'pulling' implement I ever hooked on to....

Realy ??? Your soil must be a lot different than mine I can pull it easy of course we don't do primary with it usually run second gear and as fast as third have to run it up to Pto speed or even a hair faster and it does a really nice job . I can pull it a hair faster but it just doesn't do a very good job . On the first pass sometimes have to run it in first gear ?

Delta Red. I sold a few of them new. We always told the guys to have at least 10 hp per foot of machine. Several guys would fall chisel and then one pass in the spring with the Lely Rotara. It usually made nice seed bed. Actually too fine on slopes. Guys could not meet erosion requirements so most quit using them. Have a few produce growers that still use them.[/quote]

Dad bought one of these new back in about 75 or 76. Used it till about 3 years ago till it was just worn out. he started using it on our hot 4010 that was turning about 125 and ran in 4th gear. Then he got a 4430 and ran it on that for years in B2 or C1. Some years we used a bridge hitch and pulled a 950 jd mulcher behind it and other years we ran a different bridge and pulled a planter directly behind it. We even used the markers that came with the roterra. We would either run it in ground that had been plowed or disked in the spring or chiseled the previous fall. Just make sure you have it wound up before you drop it in the ground. It did a wonderful job but really worked it hard. A neighbor had one also and ran it on a 4640 in B2 or C2 andcould really cover the ground.

I've never tried to run it that fast i didn't think it would do a very good job the fastest I've ran it was third and that seemed plenty fast I might try going a little faster .
