1942 44ish 2n ,as soon as I start cranking the motor the lift arms start to rise even with the lift control in the down position, once there
fully lifted they stay in that position for a day or while they slowly bleed off I have stood on them after tractor is shut off but i can
not get them to lower ,if I disconnect the pto they stay in the down position which Im assuming should be the case any help would be
appreciated thanks

Has it always done this or is this a new problem? Things to check are the main spring (when the arms are down there should be no free play but it should not be tight). Also check the fore and aft placement of the quadrant.

Sounds like the linkage has come loose from the T or has fallen out of the control valve, or the control valve is stuck in the raise position. Remove the right side inspection cover and reach down in there to feel if everything is connected.
