Lift arm spread

I installed my own Hoye Rops, which is great, but in doing so i dropped my lift arm and stabilizer. Now that I put it back it will not spread to accept my carry frame as it did before. any thoughts?

There are chains and turn buckles that control the spread. Loosen the nut on each turn buckle and turn the turn buckle to increase the length. After you get the spread you want re-set the nut to prevent rotation. Make sure the arms can't move enough to hit the inside of the rear tires.

It kind of depends on what tractor you have and whether the stabilizer is a chain or a bar, and inside or outside the lower lift arm.

Sometimes you can put the lift arms on the wrong side or end for end and the result is a narrower spread. I know that they look the same end for end, but there is the difference of the check chain holes. Just an idea.

This is a 1500 Yanmar. I did more research and found that the ROPS has small tabs at the bottom side of the unit that the ball joint of the lift arm is hitting when i try to spread the arms. I had to cut off a small piece of these tabs to allow the ball joint to swing past the tab. Small detail but created issues.
