Lift arms

I am restoring an Oliver 1600. I am unable to remove one of the lift arms from the shaft. I was able to remove one. I need both lift arms off so I can paint. My question is: can I drive the lift arm shaft out without having to unbolt anything inside the hydra lectric housing. I have a manual but it is unclear if I can drive the shaft out without having to unbolt anything else. Taking the shaft out would permit me to press the left arm off the shaft. The lift arm is rusted on the shaft.

The splines for the internal arm are larger than the shaft,
so if you try to drive out the shaft it will bring the bushing and seal with it and also require removal of the top cover in order to align the internal cylinder arm during reassembly. I would drill a small hole in the top of the arm and try to soaking the spline and arm with penetrating oil for a day or two before driving it out.

I had to do the same thing on my 1550. One arm slipped right off, the other would not budge. I was taking the whole hydraulic system apart and had it off the main case on horses. Once the housing was stripped I drove the shaft out. As 90% said the center splines are larger and will push the bushing and seal out. I still couldn't budge it in my 12 ton press with heat. Ended up taking it to a nearby trucking company and their mechanics needed a 40 ton and lots of torch. Then I did a lot of scraping and filing on the splines where they used a hammer. New seals and lots of anti-seize in it now.
