Light Switch

Another stupid question! What light switch do I need for a 12v conversion - or does it matter? This is on a 39 Farmall H....

The switch doesn't care if it is 6 or 12 volts

The light switch will work fine on 12 volts. If it is a 4 position switch it will have 2 OFF positions CCW and the next one. Then Dim and Bright. Disconnect any wire going to the original Field terminal on the original Generator. Bulbs must be 12v. (or LED which are real lights)

Just wire it up as a switch for just the lights. It's other function will be eliminated with the conversion.

None of your wires for your 12v charging system will be wired to the light switch.
There will be an extra click to the switch in between OFF and DIM that don't do anything. That is the click part of the switch that it's function is no longer needed, and you will be eliminating with the conversion.
