Lighten a 656? (656 vs 560 vs 460)

Is it just as easy to lighten a 656 as opposed to a 560? Is the 460 the king of light Farmall 6 cyl's? 4500#'s is target weight. I never really think of a 656 as a puller.

I guess it's all about where you are and the rules you pull under. We go the other way. We pull 460's and 560's all the way up to 12,000# and we rarely see a 560 weigh less than 8000#.

656 evolved from the 460 and the 460 evolved from the 350-300-Super H and the H. 656 will be lighter than any 560.

If you are running a normally aspirated engine and shooting for the 4500 class, I would stick with a 460, they are much easier to get into the 4500 and still have a lot of moveable weight. The 460 that I work on weights 4200 with heavy radial tires and a 225 lb. driver and most of the time we need all the weight up front.
Th 656 has basically the same frame size as a 300-460 but is still a lot heavier, the axles and the bull gears are heavier for sure.

Nebraska Test shows the 560 with no extra ballast at 6600 lbs, the 460 at 5800 lbs. So, there is 800 lbs difference between those same year models. The 656 comes in at 6900 but there would be a lot to take off as I assume it had a 3-point hitch, where the older models just had a drawbar ?? Info doesn't really say.
