listening to a radio while working

I do. I work alone so if nothing else it's back ground noise. When I had employees we left it in the truck. Insurance wasn't a fan of radios on the job.

I enjoy having a radio on most all the time if it is quiet enough to enjoy it. In or around the shop and while working on a fence, if I can hear it I usually have one playing.

Every vehicle and tractor here with a radio it is on if engine is running. Sometimes volume is low and sometimes not. Radio in shop only goes off if power goes off.

The radio in my shop plays 24-7 older country music. When I open the door I am back in the sixties and seventies. No matter what I am working on, I am really just listening to the radio and back when things were good. Puttin wheels on Cadillac's, Riding with Private Malone and going to the Harper Valley PTA. Sometimes, Corn don't grow and seeing right through tite fittin jeans.

Always listen to the radio at work if possible. Unfortunately due to the contractors cap and wind buffeting I can't listen to the radio in my truck at highway speed. I like classic rock since I'm a classic myself.

We had a radio in the barn that I would listen to when alone working on farm machines or my car. I enjoyed Patterns in Music on WJR Radio, Detroit, with Karl Haas. (One year, Hass was director of music at Interlochen Music Camp.) I learned that there was more to music than the teen pop. Since then, I have listened to many forms of music. Music well played is the best. Loud does not mean good.
I have never listened to music or any other sound except the machines that I am driving.

I use to wear those cheapy 5 dollar radio headsets until no longer available. For the past 10 years or so I've had to go to the pricey worktunes radio ear muff style. I'm on my second set as of a couple years ago. I love my tunes and what little news they provide. I tell SWMBO it keeps me from going postal.

I've used a 'worktunes' headset for years, it not only makes the hours go by faster, but my ears are clean when I am done and my cap is still on....I also wear them when riding the sxs out on the trails.
