Little Genuis interchangeability

I've got a 2 bottom Little Genius Plow that had the CP6174DS points. At my last plow day the trip mechanism engaged as I was crossing the road breaking the tips off my points. The research I've done has resulted in little success in finding replacements points. I've heard that it may be possible to convert my plow to Super Chief bottoms which parts are supposed to be easier to come by. Is this in fact possible and if so what challenges would I be facing in doing so? Any help you can give will be greatly appreciated.

Your points can be repaired.

Converting to Super Chief requires first obtaining complete Super Chief bottoms. The most important part is the "frog" which bolts to the "beam" of the plow, and serves as a frame for all the wear parts: the shear, moldboard, shin, and landside. New frogs are hundreds of dollars each, so you're best served finding an old plow with Super Chief bottoms on Marketplace or at an auction to use for parts. You would have well over $1000 invested into a two bottom plow if you buy all new parts.

The job involves removing the two bolts that hold the frog to the beam, and bolting the "new" frog back in place. However these bolts have been in place for decades so they are likely difficult to remove.

I was leaning toward the option of finding an old plow and removing the super chief bottom assembly from it to put on my plow. There is a welding shop that is local to me that said they thought they could weld the points I had back together and the points cracked worse than they always been. From talking to Plow Peddler Steve it sounds like there is a very specific way of welding on that old chilled metal that they may not have been familiar with.
