Little Wonder Hitch Replacement Material

I bought a Little Wonder #2 last year and I have found as I'm going through it the diagonal cross beam is cracked and the horizontal adjustment bar for the the hitch is bent multiple directions. I'm considering making replacements but before I go buy bar stock of steel I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations on what type of steel to use for these parts.

ASTM A36 would be fine for that. By the way, in my world the pull point on the tractor is the “drawbar” anything on an implement is a “hitch”.
