Live hydraulics on B

I have put the JD live hydraulic pump on my B between the fan shaft and the mag. I followed the instructions, taking the pump gear out of the rear end, and putting in the new baffle plate, however the rock shaft does not work now. What do I need to do the correct that problem.

To have installed a hyd unit between the fan shaft and magneto is a feat I doubt few of us have ever done! Awesome! I don't really believe you meant to say it this way -- how about between the governor and magneto? Please clarify.

Just installing a slice unit up front won't have any effect on your rockshaft until AFTER you have made some plumbing changes -- you do not mention whether you have or haven't!!

Frankly, I don't see a question here that can be answered. (PatB)

Did the Powr-Trol/rockshaft work before you made the conversion? Do you have the correct plugs in the P-Trol box? Did you turn the pump on like Mike said? Do you feel any urge in one of the hoses from the pump to the P-Trol when you try the P-Trol lever as if the pump is trying? Did you fill it with oil? I have heard some folks say that they had to prime those pumps, but that was never a problem and I have converted several over the years. Did you rotate the rockshaft into the "Down" position with a large wrench so that it is ready to lift "Up"? Remember, it is gravity down, and it might already be in the "UP" position. Does the P-Trol lever kick out when you try, or what happens?
