loader bouncy on decent !

I have a du-all loader mounted to a 2510 JD it operates well but when you have it raised with or without a load in it, upon letting it down it bounces & jerks terrible.It jerks worse when the rpms are higher.It is a pain and a saftey issue I would like to figure out if you have anything I could look at I would appriciate it thank you.

I don't know about the 2510 but I had a 2010 with loader that worked off the tractor hydraulics. Don't remember that particular problem but the hydraulics had many problems. The cure I found was to change the hydraulic-transmission oil and clean, and occasionally replace, the wire mesh hydraulic filter that was located at the bottom of the transmission case, more or less under the front part of the seat, and accessed from the right side of the transmission case behind a flat plate held on with 3( I think) bolts. Flushing out the case with kerosene wouldn't hurt either. Hope this helps.

If it has a hyd. filter on it change that. If its clogged it can cause that type of problem.

Really doubt that it is the loader.

Like KEH says, if you've got it plumbed into the tractor, I'd look there first because that loader is all double acting and was designed to operated off a 20gpm(PTO) pump.

Are you using a separate loader valve, or do you have the loader plugged into the tractor's remote outlets?

If you are using a separate valve, is the oil return plumbed correctly, so it returns to the hydraulic oil filter cover (or by other means) into the "charge circuit"?

If using the tractor's hydraulic valves, there is an adjustment for flow rate (on the valve blocks themselves, under the hood). Try slowing it down a bit by loosing the locknuts and turning the flow control in a bit. If you have an operator's manual, the details will be found there. Reducing the flow rate SHOULD help he jerking as it "free-falls".

If you are useing the valve that came on the loader and a pto pump some of them are real hard to control. You need to lean your hand on something to feather the control cause if you don't and it jerks a little it compounds the problem.

Not a JD guy by any standards, but on our Ollies if they jerk when lowering on the tractor hydraulics, there is a restrictor valve you turn in to make it smoother. It looks like a bolt w/ a screw driver slot instead of a hex head, and a jam nut on it.

What shape is the loader in?

I've seen a couple loaders that do that with one-way cylinders on them, the frame is sprung a little but still works--mostly. Loader was used for pushing tree branches around, broke it up and needed re-welded.

Also seen that behavior when some nut(me) blew a hose on the cylinder side of the tee and the local shop had 7/16 but not 1/2 inch hose. The different sizes make one side go up faster, catches just about everytime.
