loader capacity

I can save a bundle of $$ if I can unload 3 pallets of landscape stone from a flatbed deliver truck with my "56 640 (with Wagner loader and Sherman BH).

Each pallet of stone weighs 3500 pounds. Can I do it? When I clear the flatbed--will it drop "like a stone" or float to the ground?

You have about a 95% chance it will not do it and if you try your likely to brake a front spindle and or flip the tractor. My 841 will lift around 2500lbs and then it gets very tail light and I have almost flipped it more then once

Don't try it. That's 500 pounds above and beyond what my Westendorf TA26 on my 4600 is rated for... and the 4600 isn't heavy enough to anchor 3000# on the loader.

I'm not sure it will even clear the flatbed, but I put it at more like 99% likely that it will not give you a satisfactory result. I wouldn't try it with my 5600 and Ford loader.

Ditto what the others said.. that's a whole lotta weight... I think you'd need a tractor like a 5000 or larger to lift that weight...

I'm not familiar with the Wagner loader, but generally speaking, ANY loader on a tractor that size isn't even going to think about letting daylight under those skids. If it did you would collapse the loader arms, bend the rods or break the axle. Don't waste your time.
Get a machine that will lift it or hand bomb the stuff off...

Thanks for all the replies--I appreciate the advice.

My next cheaper option is to have the stone yard reload the pallets into something I can handle.

Do you think I can safely handle 750 or 1000 pounds (or 1500 or 2000)?

1000 would be safe. 1500 can be managed. 2000 can probably be done.... but there again, you get into that zone where that axle can go pop/bang.

I would say 1500 lbs max. Now if you had the set up I have ya you could handle more. My 841 has the heavy front end under it because we broke the lighter one to many times.
