Loader Plumbing

Recently purchased a JD 2010 project tractor, which I now have running. It came with a loader, which is not on the tractor and I need help on how to plumb the loader hydraulic lines. It has a spool valves mounted on the loader frame. Currently one hose goes from the remote cylinder disconnect at the rear of tractor and runs to the spool valve. Another hose goes from rock housing, 1 ½” (homemade fitting) back to the spool valve. Now when I start the tractor the (2) pt arms automatically raise and go down when I shut it off. Any help with the pluming would be appreciated. I will try to send pictures.

You may do better with this if you make a thread in the Manufacturers Section (further down the index) in the John Deere specific Forum. The tractor serial number may help as well as the brand of loader. Good pictures of the loader and the loader valve also.

Was this loader previously on the tractor and working or it has never been on the tractor? The control valve may be the wrong type for the tractor hydraulic system.

Had you ran it prior to this and the 3 point worked correctly? If the lever for the 3 point is in the “raise” position this is how the 3 point would react if the internal cylinders have some leak-by. I am not familiar with that model but looking at the parts diagram for it the threaded hole your returning oil to should just be open into the case, can you confirm that? Also not sure what it proved to add the return to the case when your plugging one hose into a remote it makes the other port useless anyway. Might as well just plugged your return into the remote as well.
Edit to add: Do you have the remote lever in an activation mode when you experience the hitch lifting? If the remote is centered the action of the hitch has nothing to do with the valve you added. And adding if the valve was activated then center it and see if the lifting still takes place. Did you try moving the hitch lever to the lower position when the tractor is running to see if the hitch lowers?

FEL control valve needs to be configured for ""2010 open center hyd system"" or risk breaking a very expensive hyd pump. Photo below shows how JD engineers recommended attaching FEL control valve to a JD 2010. Returning FEL control valve return oil to rockshaft housing is incorrect method to supply oil to the FEL control valve especially without returning oil back into hyd circuit not just retuning oil to hyd oil reservoir.

Thanks for your replies. Loader was on the “non-running” tractor. I took it off to work on the engine. With tractor running, I need to do more checking moving the remote lever and 2 pt lever to better understand and see what is happening to 2 pt arms. I will also investigate the plumbing diagram but, will not be able to work on tractor/loader until next week. I will keep you all posted.
