loader removal

Depends on the make and model of the loader. The 3000 did not come stock with a loader although there were a couple of loader models available as dealer options, and there were third party after market loader models available as well.

Most can easily be removed if you have an overhead chain hoist, otherwise you would need to place jacks and jack stands at strategic locations depending on exactly which loader it is, and you may need disconnect the loader frame and pump from the tractor, then back the tractor up a foot or so and then raise the rear of the loader frame some to clear the front axle/wheel as you back it the rest of the way out.

(quoted from post at 11:26:08 01/03/20) Any tips for removal of a front end loader off a early 3000 with hydraulic pump in the front?
The loader is a ford product . Do I have to remove the front pump or does it separate like a Lovejoy connector?

Most like a 730 Industrial balance reasonably well when lifted from the grill guard. Add ballast to the bucket to fine tune.

It should have a pump mounting plate that bolts to the front bolster (front axle support) that the pump bolts to. You will have to remove either the pump from the plate or the plate from the bolster. Then slide the pump (or pump & plate) forward and the splined shaft that is part of the pump should slide out from the coupling that it is in. If you want to run the tractor without the loader on it then you will need to remove the other end of the coupler linkage from the crankshaft pulley, otherwise it will flop around.

Thank you

using jack stands and several floor jacks,, ,yes..you can roll the ford backwards out from under the 730 loader.. I used cribbing to support the front mount with the pump after disconnecting if from the bolster. The factory drive slide out of spines on the couplers on the pump, however your may be different. as the tractor moved backwards, I jacked the rear of the loader up so it clear the front end, moving the jack stands around the front end as it went back.

!!!!!Before replacing, the pump shaft and couplers will have excessive wear and should be replace as these are a failure point. ALSO replace the front fan belt with a high quality belt as this is the only time you can replace it, with the pump shaft removed. I got mine off of ebay and there is a short shaft and a long shaft so be sure to measure yours...!!!!!

Great time to de-grease everything and paint.. Completely service tractor before you reinstall loader.. I pulled the loader on mine to install a clutch. Do not replace any hoses till its back on the tractor is probably the safest way to prevent the loader from moving and falling off the jack stands, but the bucket tilt hoses wear the most and usually go first.
