locking gas cap 504U

I'd really like to slow down the thievin' no-goods that stop by occasionally and rob me of my tractor's gasoline.
The machine is a '67 I504U gas.
Does anyone out there know the part/model # of the locking gas caps marketed via Robertshaw -or- Stant (easiest to find by far)?
Or could you inform me as to what dimension s are pertinent to a vented gas cap so that I might locate a locking version for my tractor?

In my experience if they want the gas they will drive a hole in the bottom of the tank if you put a locking gas cap on. Better to leave little gas in it or drain it if you are not going to use it for a while.

back in the 70's i had that problem too with vanishing gas---break a few strait blade razors in half and super glue them to the
lip of the cap--- my gas stopped disappearing and there was a couple neighborhood teens who kept their hands in their pockets
until they healed. mean but effective.

LOcking gas caps were kinda generic,(In the 80s everyone had them)take the old one to the store and just match one
up.

I liked a response I got over at RedPower, to leave a gas can next to the tractor with 50/50 gas & water. Hah!

Kind of a pain but could drain gas out then put a bit of diesel fuel in the tank. A couple of gallon in the tank would easily mix with no problem with the next use if you pretty well filled the tank. Then drain and repeat with a bit of diesel fuel.

Unfortunately any sort of "booby trap" will land you in jail, and the thieves get to go home with their pockets full of your money.

Doesn't take much of a lawyer to argue that the tractor was an "attractive nuisance."

Geez, I would expect that "booby trap" would be along the range of trip wire activated shotguns, leg hold bear traps, tiger pits, pungee sticks, ect. . Leaving a can of crap fuel next to my tractor?

Back to locking gas caps, does anyone know the Stant or Robertshaw part number(with vent!) to twist onto a Farmall/IH gasoline fuel tank?

There isn't one.

For the record, I was talking about the razor blades glued to the gas cap. Different time and place we live in now. Now, material things are not worth harming others over, especially when those material things aren't yours and you aren't paying to replace them.

I wouldn't doubt but they'd sue you over the half gas half water booby trap too. Probably win too.
