Long 460 clutch

Recently my old 460 was under water for a spell due to flooding. I've finally got her going again, but can't get the clutch to work. It's a real pain because the clutch is sealed and you really can't see any moving parts. A friend of mine reccommended getting it going in gear and hitting the brakes a bunch, but that didn't help. Is there a way to free this up without splitting the tractor? I don't have a hard flat surface to work on and will have to send it out otherwise.

There are two removable covers that give limited access to the clutch. Each has two bolts holding it in place and each is on the right side of the clutch housing. Certain adjustments can be done through these openings by persons with small hands. Does your wife work on tractors?
