It is white.Red 990 or white one?
The 990 was a fairly prolific model with the white Selectamatic starting in ‘65 and running through the CASE years to 1980.It is white.
Good to know. It's a pretty good tractor right? Is $2500 a good price if it's in good running order? The 990 was a fairly prolific model with the white Selectamatic starting in ‘65 and running through the CASE years to 1980.
Parts can be sourced through a CNH dealer.
Well I have much less than that lolI had an airline pilot by profession that had one. His only tractor for his 100 acres used for grazing cattle and never heard a gripe out of him.
Yes.Good to know. It's a pretty good tractor right? Is $2500 a good price if it's in good running order?
Kinda what I thought, thank you!Yes.
With loader and running. The hydraulic system of the Selectamatic is a bit clumsy to learn so grab an operator’s manual on line.
Good hydraulics, but a couple different levers. It’s English built so you might find an urge for afternoon tea and you might scratch your head a time or two, but the 990 is solid.
At that price for a loader tractor don’t let too many get in front of you. I gave more than that for my 4600 w/ loader 12 years ago, but have been very satisfied with it.
I haven’t operated a 990 so I’m not versed in their functions. The 4600 has a 2 stage/ 2 speed pto. You have to clutch part way to engage/ disengage the pto that doesn’t stop travel. Similar to early Allis Chalmers. The pto is 450/1000 depending on the lever position.Does this tractor have live hydraulics and a live pro? The picture on the listing matches what tractordata shows for a 1965-1970. Tractordata isn't super clear to me on this tractor regarding live hydraulics and live pro. It is a selectamatic
I misspoke. First stage stops travel and not pto. All the way down stops everything.I haven’t operated a 990 so I’m not versed in their functions. The 4600 has a 2 stage/ 2 speed pto. Hydraulics has a selector for the 3 point draft control as well as a 3 position diverter on the valve chest to select auxiliary/ 3 point control.
Very good hydraulics but more appropriate if DB labeled it Selectaclumsy instead of Selectamatic.
England was preoccupied with their space program in these years.
Thank you!I misspoke. First stage stops travel and not pto. All the way down stops everything.
