Looking for a flat belt.

I am looking for a new flat belt to start hand crank tractors after they have been sitting for a while. I have seen it done by people and would like to do this to a few tractors in the future.
All I can seem to find is old belts on eBay so I am wondering if there is any place to buy new flat belts like that would go on a threshing machine.

Check with a commercial bearing place. I got a couple for an old metal lathe from Erie Bearing, a local to me place. All they needed was the size, what type of material to be made out of, and whether laced (round baler style) or endless belt (like for threshing machine, tractor pulley work).

I am still using old belts a lot cheaper than buying new but Page Belt here NH (on the web) sure could set you up. They have been supplying for years. I had them make up a belt for my cordwood saw back in the 80’s

There are actually quite a few options out there. If you use Google, etc, to search, use the term "power transmission flat belt". You will find that a lot comes from India, China, Japan, etc. etc. Pay attention before you order. If you want a good, heavy belt, look for rubberized cotton duck/canvas. I personally don't have any new ones, but those are the old ones that held up best & usually the type observed on a dyno.

You'll probably be shocked at the cost of a new belt. Used ones come up from time to time on Marketplace. There's a 6" belt currently in central Michigan right now.

If rotation is correct, you run it direct. If not, you put a twist in it

I looked at McMaster for belting and found 6" belting quite expensive. My brother and I must have three old belts around here, the ones used on blowers, corn shredders and threshing machines. I am just curious what you bought just to pulley start old tractors. I thiink I need to take care of my old ones since a replacement is costly.

Should be easy to pull start the tractors with another tractor. Need two people and another tractor

I suspect he is by himself and only needs one belt long enough to park one tractor in front of the other.
