Looking for new tractor

I'm in the market for a new tractor for haying and various chores around the farm I have found 3 that fit what I am wanting and are in my budget. One is a 2440 with 2600 hrs asking 14k the next is a 2555 with 4700 hrs asking 15k and the last is a 2750 unsure of hours wasn't on the cl add asking 14k. All 3 are 4wd with loaders is there any thing to watch out for with these models or any to stay away from? We have always had IH and I am new to green equipment. [/img]

Personally I'd pick the 2555 because 55 series are generally good tractors plus the gear shift levers were moved closer to dash giving less obstacles when getting on/off operators station.

I'd 2nd. Jim's choice ,If in has JD loader; The 55 series were about the best in JD utility tractors , If tach. on 2555 is original , Hours sound about right.. Hours seam to low on 2440 .. 2750 will have a little more HP. But unknown hours [to me] usually means, high hours or not working tach.

We had a 2555 that was purchased new. It was a very good tractor for us. If memory serves me correctly, there were actually 2 different motors offered. Ours was turboed
and turned around 90 PTO Hp. It was essentially a 2755. I think the engine offered was governed by the transmission chosen. Later, we put a 2755 pump on it and turned
around 100Hp. Wes old it next door with about 6000 trouble free hours.

2555 or the 2750, a neighbor has a 2555 and a 2755 and runs the crap out of them. My old mechanic had a 2750 with 14,000 plus hours on it
and still loved it. We have a 2155 and absolutely love it. I believe the 2555 turns 85 hp with turbo and the 2755 turns 90 plus hp with turbo
new.

2555 rated at 65 hp, 2755 rated at 75 hp, 2955 rated at 85 hp. The 2555 with
TSS trans and turbocharger was essentially the same tractor as a 2755 but rated 10 hp less. Most developed more power than their rating. Ben
