Looking for late model pull type combine in North Cent. Wi. Allis ' JD , IH ,MH...With no canvas small grain head.
Do you have any aversion to an Oliver? There's a Model 18 on Craigs List. Should have been a darned good combine.

I'd tend to listen to RRlund. If the 18 is in your area, I'd grab it. I used to think the Allis all-crops were the king of pull-type combines and I accordingly own three all-crops, but after being around a neighbour's IH and a friend's Oliver 18 and Cockshutt 422, I realize the all crops were actually a pretty lousy combine. Ok for fine seeds because of their rubber concaves, but in any conventional grains the Oliver and Cockshutt would run circles around them. The IH wasn't as nice as the Oliver nor Cockshutt, but still a lot better than the Allis.

I checked Madison.....posting has timed out or machine was sold and yes I am looking for combine to harvest small grain with pick-up or direct cut

..... my mistake.....clicked on the link you left and listing did come up. Just poor computer skills on my part. Thank you much...John

rrlund......Do you know anything about pick-up head on the 18 ?? Does the drum that pick-teeth are mounted on turn.....almost has too based on picture...is there a cam on end that folds teeth back ??
Never did check if machine is available....just located too far from eastern Clark Co.

I don't know. I've never had a pickup for one. Never had an 18 for that matter, just two 15s and a 7300.
