loose rear rim

I have a 1955 100 and the left side rear rim is loose and pops and clunks when the tractor is moving . I tightened the bolts but it is still slightly loose and making the noise when moving . I can push sideways on the tire and get it rocking and see the rim moving on the wheel. What could be wrong ?

Take the bolts off and oil them up and retighten them. The nuts have rusted so you think you are tightening then when in fact you may be just twisting them about to break. If they twist off then replace with new bolts and check the mounting surface of the disc to the rim the may be worn some in that spot from running loose. The disc should pull up on the rim snugly so it dose not put all the strain on the bolts. If you have to replace them don't worry about the farceof fine thread bolts. All they do is strip easier.

Replace the old 4 bolts with new ones and ensure that none of the 4 loops have cracked around where they are made to the rim.
