I'd look for the $100k I left in it and if it wasn't there ask them what they did with it and ask to have it back.

The box would have to be the size of a two ton box truck and I wouldn't be able to crawl up to look. My memory is so short now that I wouldn't then know if it was one time mine.

After my surprise, I think the old memories associated with the items and the faces that went with them. Grand Pas, Grand Mas, Mom, Dad, brother, and all the long gone true friends.
Had that happen today, found a couple of old business cards when I worked for John Smith Chevrolet, a dealer here in Atlanta. On the back were old phone numbers from long gone friends. Cards had to be at least 35 years old.

My first Girlfriend -- in original condition of course -- and My Mustang -- evan tho neither would fit in said box --- Roy

(quoted from post at 10:55:20 02/24/19) If someone gave you a box of stuff you lost over the years, what would you look for first in the box? Ellis

I'd need to be really careful with that one. There might be a good reason that whatever I wanted the most had been lost, eh?

Box is a metaphor, right? It's like gonna take a barge just to choose from. Hopefully my first girlfriend is near the top. lol

My homemade test light. Except I didn't really lose it. I left it under the dash of a car I was working on. That car has probably been shredded, sent to China, and has come back as a Kia or something.

My $145 gunsmith tap and die set. It somehow got buried somewhere in my shop or shed or garage and has been gone for years. I need to clean up.

It would be a small box. I have been lucky that way however I do try and keep track of stuff. I do lose things but usually they show up at some point, sometimes months or even years later I find where I left it. That isn't the case with an index with taps and tap drills for fine threads. I had one at work and one at home and shortly after I retired almost 6 years ago one set disappeared. Keep expecting it to show up but not yet, I am beginning to think it won't. I had a micrometer and multi meter stolen at work, but those probably don't count here because I didn't lose them, they were stolen.

How come that is that way got 487 loose sockets of every shape size known to man after looking through every tool I own do you think for one minute I could find a 10mm socket God Forbid!! Man that is just a cold hard cruel joke.
