Low rider wheels

Noticed Tucker Tire is offering a pair of new 6 ply tires mounted on full rims for an 8N with a starting bid of $750 and free shipping. The thing is they are 15 X 19.5.

Anybody try such small wheels on an N? It should help lower the tractor speed a little and maybe provide a more traction.

Wow. Those rims really set the stance wide and low. And the ad says free shipping east of the Rockies. Two tires and rims premounted shipped free for $750?

Would be interesting to read a product review.

If you really want to go low you could find a set of LCG (low center of gravity)wheels and tires for it. Ford built LCG tractors starting in the early 60s. They were used for mowing tractors on golf courses, highways, etc. The rear duals are something like 6X24.
A friend of mine has one with the duals.
You could get them with big, fat, single tires too.

wish I had $750
They would be [b:32593932d0]perfect [/b:32593932d0]on my 8N with the rear loader.
Already has small industrials on the front.
(those are 18.4 x 16.1 on the rear)
lowrider pulls hard, but those turfs need some more traction
