LS Tractors

I have a Korean built Long 50 HP that has served me pretty well for 20 years. It has a Mitsubishi engine and trans.

Is the LS tractor similar? Anybody with actual experience? I would be looking at the Utility or bigger tractors 58-68 HP.

Got an ls dealer near you ? First thing I would do is walk over to the window and look into the service shop to see whats going on. We have an Ls dealer near me. Usally the shop is empty, But sometimes I dont look also. Last time I saw one ls in with the rear wheel off an the transmission cover off, a 35 hp tractor. Why ? I dont know. Robinson have been selling ls a long time, owner said he like working with ls, said its best the company, over lifetime, he had jd,ihc mm, long ,Montana, and ls so ,That what I can say .

Isn't LS the same as Mahindra?

LS is South Korea and Mahindra is India.

I have a tier 3 LS I bought new in 2012.

Never a bit of trouble with it so far. For the price point you get some extras on it that other brands charge extra for.

To a dertain degree LS makes the under 24 hp Mahindra under contract

Love my LS 3035. That size is the exact same tractor as Case or new Holland . Same everything. My dad has the case 35 hp. Same bang, less buck

Weve demonstrated LS from a local dealer at Junkshow for about 7 years. Always the 30-40 platform. So far we like what we see in the small sampling weve had.

Interesting, walk into a John Deere shop, and it's usually full of tractors being worked on.

I bought an LS 6168 cab power shuttle almost 4 years ago. Its been a good machine. Only issue I had was the throttle pedal went bad and would throw a code. My dealer sent me a new one and I sent him the old one. Otherwise, no issues at all.

I have an 2013 LS 3033H, this is a more plain model 33hp hydro trans 4x4 with FEL. This tractor has been trouble free for the 600hrs it has. LS started in the 70's as a division of Hyundai, now it's just part of LS group. Whether its good or bad to you it seems a ton of compact tractors have S. Korean roots, including many brands, labels and colors.

LS supplied tractors to Montana, before they decided to just market their own products in the US. LS makes many tractors for new holland mainly their compacts. They also make or made tractors for Case, McCormick, Landini, Farmtrac, Landtrac, TAFE, among several others.

I usually passed over them on tractor sites. Didn't think much off the cuff.....no particular reason, just didn't. I had a "small jobs around the farm" tractor I bought new in 2016 and I wanted to upgrade it for more creature comforts. I went to the dealer that sold me that tractor and was shopping around his lot thinking about buying that brand again. I didn't find exactly what I wanted in the size I wanted and to stay with them I'd have to move up to a larger unit.....I really didn't want to do that....but was seriously considering it.

I got through kicking the tires and went to talk to the sales folks and mentioned that I had a couple of trade ins...the 2016 I bought from them new and a '63 Ford diesel. They gave me the name and phone number of a guy who buys their trade ins. as they don't fool with them.. I called him and we finalized on a new LS since he was an LS dealer for me, and he took my 2 tractors and some cash and left. The LS had more whistles and bells than I really expected in that size machine and the price was great....plus the unit was in stock.

I really liked the brand that I had, no problems with it or another larger one of the same brand but in looking at the engineering and production effort put into the LS I'd just say this.......put LS on your shopping list. I doubt you'll be sorry......I'm surely not!!!!!

Back in 2007 I decided I was going to retire and down size. Part of that was a new smaller tractor with cab and all the bells and whistles. That spring I went by all the color dealers in the area looking at what they had decked out in the size I wanted. One thing I did was to look at their service shop, to be worked lot, and work completed lot. The green dealer was the largest dealer in the area and his shop and to be worked areas were packed. I said right there, if I found something I liked and bought it, if I should have a problem requiring dealer involvement, no telling how long I'd have to wait to get it fixed.

So I buy an unknown brand and to this day it hasn't been in the shop even though the dealer didn't have much of a maintenance organization on site. What parts I needed over the years I get with a phone call, credit card, and UPS drop ship to my farm. I'm happy with that.

Thank you for the replies. Sounds as if most of you bought <50 HP tractors. How about the bigger ones 60-70 HP and the Utility model?

Some Mahindas are made in S. Korea, many are assembled in the USA. Some also have engines from Japan.
