LS Tractors

Look at more than just that model. TXJim the 2940 is built in the Mannhiem plant in Germany and the 2351 is built in Nigel South Africa Along with some other models built in those and other places outside of the states. 1047 is in Italy

Thanks, I was more asking about if there were any being manufactured, rather than build/assembled with domestic and foreign parts. Are the tractors you mention fully manufactured in the USA?

I see now it says manufactured, but JD builds much of their stuff outside of the us so maybe one would need to dig deeper than just the specs they have in whats here. IDK
If you are looking for something where every piece of cast iron, every bolt and nut, every chip, every wire, every plastic part, is entirely "Made in the USA" there is no such thing.

To have everything made in USA, would make one of those 25HP Deere compacts cost $100,000.

Use the internet, that way you can find out things you don’t know! :ROFLMAO:This is what an LS tractor is!
I wonder why anyone would look it up. There would be no point in this discussion or most on here if all we did was "look it up" . I for one like this forum as most questions asked get answered by people that have it, used it, sell it. fixed it, or any number of things with hand on experience. To me that is worth a lot more than the internet where you may have to scroll for 1/2 hour to wed out the garbage. At least it is fun and entertaining to weed out on this site.

"Don't know what it is" is different from "Are they any good."

For the OP's brother, it's too little too late. Tractor's been bought. He's stuck with it for better or worse. Perhaps he can report back to us if the tractor is any good.

LS has been around for a while and they seem to be making inroads in the market. They're at every farm show. In fact they will be at the Keystone Farm Show this coming week.

I know of one dealer who has sold LS for at least 10 years now. You don't stay in business for very long with a lot full of new tractors if you're not moving them. If they weren't any good, they wouldn't move.

I was replying to your "incorrect statement of"
has not been a tractor under a 100 HP about, that is made in the States since about the 70's or 80's.
. FYI my JD 4255 was built in 1991 in JD's Waterloo, Ia factory. I was not stating that JD tractors weren't built in several foreign countries!! Yes I'm aware some JD tractors were/are built in other countries such as Mannheim, Germany & Mexico, & Africa. When I was employed by JD dealer about 45 yrs ago I drove a truck to Port at Houston, Tx several times to pickup up new JD tractors that had been built at the factory at Mannheim that had been sent to Houston in a SHIP.

Yeah and they look a lot like a New Holland too. There seems to be no connection as far as I have read.
LS custom builds tractors to spec for several farm companies .

My brother recently bought one of those LS tractors with a cab so he can plow his driveway without freezing to death. He nearly died 2 winters ago from pneumonia after using his Massey Ferguson with no cab. My question is are those LS tractors any good?
I have a 2013 LS k-5055 I bought used.it’s 55 hp 2wd.has a Mitsubishi engine.has no computer or DEF system! Simple straightforward tractor.no complaints really

I have an LS2-25s that I bought several years ago. Well thought out design for operator (big guy) comfort and ease of operation. I had intended to buy a different LS series of 25 HP but the dealer suggested I go with the 25s. What directed me to LS was the fact that that dealer took 2 tractors in trade and other suppliers wanted nothing to do with trades. I am very thankful that I followed his (the dealer's) advice.

A neighbor up the road has a cab model of a larger series. Don't know the model. Have seen several around here and as many new ones as other brand's new ones. Lots of older types, like the rest of my herd and JD is holding its grip down here. Having had JD and Case-IH, having 2 of them now, I like them for an older tractor better than my JD 4230, 4010 and 4020 I had years ago. JD got a foot hold down here during the "Cotton is King" days as the local dealer was out in the field daily talking to farmers and getting their inputs back to JD HQs. IH was second but didn't follow the farmer's concerns like JD did.

Has not been a tractor under a 100 HP about, that is made in the States since about the 70's or 80's. Doesn't matter what color you buy.
The JD factory in Augusta, Ga. is still making tractors. I have a '98 5210 bought new, made in Ga......just used it to put out a bale of hay. Several S. Korean tractors are on the market, TYM bought out Branson and somehow Bad Boy is in there somewhere, all S.Korean.

I myself can't wrap my mind around buying tractor with foreign engines in them. Nobody around here seems to have very good results with some of them. I'll keep my easy to work on models.
Deere would be the only one left today with American built engines in some models. Even then, most of their castings are produced in Spain.

I have a LS MT357 that has a 6 ft front mount snow-blower on it. Has a cab, ac & heat with a hydro transmission. It is a handy tractor with the FEL, but lifting isn't anything compared to my JI Case 530 CK, but than again I didn't buy for lifting anything.
The only thing I don't like about it is that Tier 4 pollution junk on it. Should bought the tractor before all this pollution junk was manitary.
LS does build the smaller CIH and NH tractors less than 75 HP. LS does build their own 75 HP and larger tractors.
My MT357 has their own Miltron engine. I can get parts for my LS from CNH just by adding a M to the part number.

From the quote in used red MN's post, he was replying to rustred who posted that he didn't know what an LS tractor is, not to you.
Something is not working correctly with my quoting response today. This was a reply to rust red I am sorry that I added this reply since you took it as being directed towards you. Rust always accuses me of getting ALL my knowledge and information I post here from the internet. That is true to a DEGREE, but I also have 20 years of experience as a mechanic all be it that was 20+ years ago due to a career change. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

Are you using the reply "button" at the bottom right of the post you are quoting? Like I just did for yours?

I wonder why anyone would look it up.
At least you wouldn’t accuse Mr. Patriot that he bobbled his post by only providing two letters for a tractor name. And yes I knew that LS was an actual tractor brand before I looked it up, I am a member of another forum that has more traffic concerning machines outside of the well known brands.
