Lucked out again

Ive heard stories of wagons getting away, going down hills, thru fences, etc. I only had one get away and it was a slight slope, no harm done. But our fields are all sloped and we easily get 150 bales on. Nothing but safety hitch pins on the wagons. When you find yourself in a hurry, step back and slow down. Best policy.

I used to have a wagon which when I bought it at auction had a snow plow cutting edge bolted to one main beam as a splint, And the front axle had some significant damage to it. After putting up with problems for two seasons I got a new front axle for it. I figured that it got away and went a little distance before coming to an abrupt stop. Each of my wagons had its own pin with pin clip sitting on the drawbar, so that it was always there. I have also kept a clip or two hanging on my directional lever.
