M axle gasket sealer?

[Fred47M]

Going to have axle housing off, and got a new gasket. Whats the best sealer for it. I think i have some black petmatex oil resistant stuff. Is that good or something better for it. Thanks

I cleaned everything up good and used grease on the gaskets. IH mechanic told me it works well and disassembles easy if need be.

Clean oil free gaskets should not need anything. Unless the casting surfaces have been damaged then nothing my help.
