I was wanting to take a strait m block out to 4.310 and the machinist told me that it would be to thin and said I need at least a super m block for it to stay alive so I been waitin all summer so that I don't miss a pull with my super m pulling tractor I would like to know how long a m block will stay alive at 4.310 bore and stock stroke

Call Gary Baker, he makes rings that will press into the top if the block to take up that space. He will also tell you your options. He's the best.

this will be 7.25 stroke so I want to make sure it works first.Already had a problem child, these are the leftovers.

you can bore a m block to 4.1/4 piston after that they will be to week plus have a better chance to hit a bad or week spot.....you may be able to do a wet sleeve like a oliver motor but will cost you....for the machine work....for $300 to $650 you can buy a good 400 block and can bore them to 4 3/8 and you don't have to worry....or go 4.250 with 7.25 stroke and be 411ci
in an m block?

If you are worrying about the head gasket, call Murphy's. I believe he has a head gasket that eliminates the need to fill the counter bore for the sleeve.
