What does it mean when the clutch linkage will not come back far enough to grease the throw out bearing thru the access hole?

Bent pipe to release bearing holder, Broke release bearing carrier sleeve or bearing carrier and sleeve interference. even if the return spring is broke when the clutch pedal is pulled to rear it should bring the grease point back unless there is a fork or linkage problem.
