M F 50 gas

HELP, I have been trying to get my MF50 gas to run longer than 40 seconds. It will start and idle perfectly for about 30 seconds then rev up and die. It will start in about a 1 minute and the cycle does it all over again. Cleaned Carb. (2 times), cleaned gas tank and resealed the tank, blown out gas lines. Changed this unit over to a fuel filter when this first started, thinking I was getting trash into the carb., about three months ago. I guess I will start all over again. First blow all lines out, if that does not help remove carb. and reclean. What am I missing guys? This tractor always started on two turns and this issue started about 2 years ago when I was pushing some brush. It died and I took forever to get it back to the barn. My brother in law and I are fairly good mechanics but this is stumping us both. HELP.

Start by doing a simple test to eliminate one thing. Start it and let it quit. Immediately take a clean container, about quart size, remove the plug from the carb bowl and see how long it takes to get at least a pint in the container. If more than 2-3 minutes you have a fuel flow problem between the tank and the carb.

Have you removed the sediment bowl assembly from the tank and checked it? I have seen foreign material stuck in the inlet of the assembly that didn't blow out. Does the inlet fitting on your carb have a screen that sticks inside the carb.

The original MF50 Sediment bowl assembly has a brass filter that is supposed to catch large particles from getting into the sediment bowl. If its still in there unscrew it and see if it will run.
The filter or screen is screwed in vertically in the base of the fuel cutoff valve inside the glass bowl.
Mine got plugged once and did the same thing.
Maybe you can just bypass the sediment bowl completely with a test can and some rubber tubing.

Guys it is the nettle valve sticking and no matter what I do, I can not get to work every time. So, I bought a rebuild kit and it has the spring that hooks onto the nettle valve. We will see if that does not cure the issue. Found on line where this is a problem on the older engines when using the new gas. I have a gas station that sells regular so I will probably start making the 30 mile (one way) trip for my tractor gas. Sells for about $.50 to $1.00 more per gallon more than regular. Thank you guys for the help. I did as you said and this time I pretty knew what I was looking for.
