IH has them and all of the new ones are fat boy springs. They use to make several different ones for varying weights, but now they are all the same. Heavy duty. TSC also carries them. Call Brad Marshall and he will send one to your door. 1-888-824-0544.

Thanks George.I looked at TSC and they said they have never had them.Go figure.I ain't never had much luck with this bunch.

George,

Do as I have done for many years, and it works slicker than HOG SNOT.... Get a small football (make sure its RED), deflate it, push it through the spring, and pump it up to what is right for you.... If the seat is too hard, let some air out. ;-)

Hey, I have a Patent on this, so don"t get any ideas. What?!!! ;-) Have fun and you can thank me later. LOL!

Thanx!

Hi , I have the aftermarket or later style of seat with the shock at the rear end . I just put two springs under there . It'll take some maneuvering to get them in there together . I weigh close to 275 and it makes for a 50% deflection . It rides good in other words . I got the spring for less than 5 bucks at the salvage yard . If you tip the scales at over 300 you might get one of those springs they are talking about and leave your old spring in there . Mine made noise for a while but it's found it's place and now doesn't make any noise other than the occasional squeak . ...Randy

The local TSC here has them right on the shelf. Just call Brad and he will send you a good one. About 20 bucks for the last one I got.

FarmallDude, that does sound like a good patent. I have a couple of weak ones now, so I may try that.

As a kid I sort of remember that IH seat springs were available in different flexes to suit light and heavy drivers. If true, that could explain some softer flexing springs found now.

Hi George,

I have a football in both my 41 and 46 H.... I"m 190 lbs., but my cousin is 390 lbs. and he likes it very well.... Those bootballs have been on the tractors since 1997.... I was going to send that to Big"un, but i"m sure he saw it.... George, just make sure the valve is to the rear, its better that way.

Hey, while i"m in here.... What is a IH 9802-DA Crank for? Seems I used it on a small engine I had.... The rotation is counter clockwise.

Thanx!

I have never had very good luck with TSC myself. They seem to cater to more horse and pet owners than farmers. I looked while back for a new sediment bowl gasket and they had them for 8N's, MF's, JD's, AC's, and none at all for Farmall's. Nevr have mower sickles to fit IH mowers anymore either. Use to keep them in stock. Plenty of oddball stuff though. We use to have a CT Farm and Country store and it was a lot better. Could even order tractor and plow parts from them.

FarmallDude, I am not sure about that crank. I will dig around in whats left of my archives and see if I can find anything.

Georgeky,

I believe the IH 9802-DA crank is for a 55T or 55W C113-C123 hay bailer, but the bailer is long gone.... Does that sound abt. right?

If I remember right, there was a guy looking for one of these, and I believe his name was Bob Currie.

Thanx G-KY!
