M farmall seat

Has anyone ever replaced the whole setup with a different base and everything I am elderly and find it hard to get on
Not on a Farmall M, but I did that on a Case VAC. I welded a base togeher that mounted into the holes where the original seat bolted on the top of the transmission/final drive and then attached an aftermarket mower seat on the base I built.

not familiar with M , néed two people I suggest.
Farmall C was a tussle for me by to get the new spring compressed new shock , and seat channel bolts to start. Need two people to do it, I recommend. I don’t have the strength to do everything to get the bolts to start, compress springs .
oh! Very important tip ,the rubber seat bushings ,GET THEM FROM CASEIH cause the ones I got off eBay last 24 hour and wore out . Got to have them or the seat rock around, will though you off the tractor, safety first .

I hadn't thought of it before, but you gave me an idea that I want to try on my H with a loader.

I just ordered the attached from Amazon for $114. The armrests and seat belt would make a guy more secure than the plain old pan seat.

Stay tuned.

Som models of the old H,M seate I thought were some of the most comfortable seats for the time. Those old Deere seats with the rigid frame and nice padded cushion were not that great to me. Though most of the worst were those utility model with an almost rigid seat on the top of the rear end with not much place to set your feet would be a big issue to me. about as uncomfortable thing there was.

Seems like everyone missed the question.

There is nothing made specifically for the M Farmall to replace the seat with something more accessible.

Find a seat and suspension out of an old truck. You will also need a flat plate to provide a place for the seat to mount farther back so you can get your leg between the seat and the shifter.

Universal mount suspension seats are available from many places. Amazon for one.

As I stated, nothing specifically for a Farmall M.

All the universal ones are meant to sit on a riser. Mounted directly to the platform, they'll be too low and you won't be able to see over the hood.

That's why I recommended a truck seat. Something out of an old road tractor or dump truck. Mounts directly to the floor and has enough rise to get you in a comfortable driving position.

Northern tool has a selection of exactly what you are looking for, brand new no scrounging through junkyards. They may be more than what you want to pay.

Put a nice after market seat on my H. Nice high back. Simply made a base mount to bolt to the existing base that the pan seat bolted to. Easy peasy.

If you have the old Monroe seat, I would keep it.
A Monroe seat has a large coil spring and a shock absorber.
My 1950 Farmall C has that seat and in my opinion, it's a Cadillac seat, the most comfortable seat ever.
