M-H Pony

Hi, I have been lurking for a while now and have some questions. I am looking at a M-H pony but it is missing some parts. Did it have a generator or an alternator? I can't find the serial no. I looked on the frame but no tag, is it stamped into the metal of the transmission or is it on a tag? Any help would be great Thanks.

Should have a generator.
Check the right side of the frame for a plate with numbers.

Factory put a generator on them - positive ground.

Thanks for all the information. I will have to get down on my hands and knees with a flashlight and look harder? Are the generators hard to get? Is there anything else that can bite me on one of these?

They are a pretty good little tractor, unless they are just flat beat to death. Make sure it sounds good in all gears. Most are missing the side tin under the gas tank. No big deal, there are good repo's out there. Generators pop up from time to time on e-bay and this site. Hope this helps.
