Has anyone had any experience with a M-L Farm Equipment flail type haybine? I found a good deal on one but i dont know how well they work. It is a Model 9D. Any information or tips on this type of haybine would be greatly appreciated.

M-C Mathews Company, Rotary Scythe. Not anything like a haybine. It leaves a ragged cut, even with sharp knives, don't let that bother you. Can't set it too low or it will bring up dirt clods. Will mow any kind of grass, wet, down, tangled, etc, and get it dry. Softens up old growth. Uses a lot of HP for its size (10 hp per foot). Doesn't do well in leafy crops like alfalfa, clover, etc. Too rough on them.
