[Ed Mockensturm]

The pivot pin on the gear shift lever is worn extremely bad. Is there any way to repair it without taking the large transmission cover off? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Mid 1950's U shifter could be removed by taking out bolts around shifter. Earlier ones had to remove top cover of transmission.

I have taken the pin out and turned it a quarter turn. Made it like new.

When I put my u back together, we took the trans cover off to take a look inside. At that decided to take out the shifter and I made a couple of little welds on the bottom of shifter. WORKS great, I have pulled my up to 3rd gear and has never jump out of gear, which is a common problem with molines. Worth the trouble!!
