I have my 45 M-M ZTU apart doing an overhaul. I have heard that you can get a few more ponies if you advance the cam. How do you go about doing this? Does the cam just run one tooth in front of the crank or behind one tooth. And if you do this do you have to change your mag timing? Thanks in advance.

If you advance the camshaft one tooth it will give you better low end torque. It runs one tooth in front of the crankshaft. To do this, you need to remove the side cover off the engine. Loosen off your valve train and/or remove your rocker arms. The camshaft unbolts from the side and when the bearing caps are removed, you can rock it out, advance it one tooth, then put it back in place. Take a look at the attached pictures. I did this on my ZA and it did make a difference.

Yes, it should work. The overhead valve 206 and 220 have the same number of teeth (60) on the camshaft gear as the ZT and ZA.
