M receiver hitch

I picked up a step bumper reciever hitch for a pickup I have here. Realized it's drilled perfect fit centered on an M, with drawbar slid over of course. Thought it might be useful info for somebody with lighter duty use. Harbor freight haul master step bumper reciever hitch. Think it was $25

Kool, my 806 came with a hammer strap on the bottom of the main drawbar,i always felt it was to low, I put a tube and a reciever hitch on the top, works good for plowing!! I order my 806 without 3 point !!

Should be able to just flip the drawbar over and put the hammer strap on top that way. One bolt and one pin. 9/16ths wrench to do it. As for a receiver hitch I don't see the point unless you're going to move trailers for pickups a lot. Like a boat dock or such.

I don't pull one single thing with my tractors that requires a ball. So, I guess I am not understanding the need for a receiver hitch.
While we are on receiver hitches, here's a tip. When changing balls on a receiver hitch, instead of twisting, turning, sliding, and scooting around on your rear end, take hitch out of the receiver and turn it a quarter of a turn and put it back in. Then you can run your wrenches up and down instead of sideways when changing the ball in it. Just turn the hitch a quarter turn back around when done.

Yeah you certainly don't need one, in some cases it might make it easier. I may pick another one up for my M. I could use my 3 ball hitch so I could move all my trailers if need be because the M only has 3/4 holes. I could put my mult-mount winch on it. I could use the same clevis and d-shackles as my pickup that has 7/8 holes. Just a few ideas. Not trying to reinvent the wheel, just thought it may come in handy for somebody.

I never tried to put it on top,the big roller would be in the way,by eye balling it.It works and look fine this way!

We don't have anything with ball hitches on either so no need for a receiver. Though I was referring to the hammer strap that was on the bottom. We have opened the holes up in our H and MD so we can use a 1 inch pin on them. Also had to reinforce the swing part as well as the drawbar itself to carry the weight on them we do. The H has an old sickle bar welded to the top of the swing and some other thing welded to the bottom of the drawbar. The MD We did something similar to it. with 1/2 inch on both. Yup you do have to lengthen the bolts for the roller or strap to work sliding the drawbar sideways.

Sounds like you understand perfectly... Just because you can't make use of it does not mean you don't understand.

Nobody is holding a gun to your head saying you HAVE to do this, either. It's just something handy that some people may find helpful...
